Whisperings and rumors of Captain Jack Sparrow’s next adventure to find the Fountain of Youth was teased this weekend at the San Diego Comic Con for the new movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Even if it weren’t not true, you wouldn’t be interested in viewing would you? He proposes the dangers of zombies, cutthroats, mermaids, and of course Penelope Cruz. I am pretty excited to see this movie, unlike others who were left with a bad taste in their mouths after the last two films, but I can side with that as well. That doesn’t make me run away from the franchise, as I still love the world that Jerry Bruckheimer created in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Nothing new was really revealed in this teaser other than that it was presented in 3D at the con, but was released in 2D online obviously. The new movie is being shot in 3D so that will give new depth to the pirate world.

Official Paranormal Activity 2 Teaser Trailer
The first official notice that the Paranormal Activity 2 is still alive and kicking came out tonight with the first teaser trailer. This movie has been kept really secretive and no one really knows how the production is going or the exact premise to where this film is going to go. By the looking at the trailer, it appears it is in the same house, but with new owners and heavy security cameras. At the very end of it, it would appear that Katie is back for unfinished business perhaps? What’s really creepy, taking a few looks at it, when Katie appears, the baby shows up in the reflection of the mirror, but not in the crib; well played sir. Who knows. I hope this film can do what its predecessor had done, but I’m sure this movie will put butts in seats after Oren Peli’s low budget Paranormal Activity being a phenomenon. Check out the short teaser trailer after the jump!

The Short Film and Story Behind Mortal Kombat: Rebirth
Last week, a seven minute short film spread like wild fire across the Interwebs and had geeks salivating by the buckets full. Mortal Kombat: Rebirth has now had close to four million views and rising. This short film puzzled viewers as to the origin and what this was promoting if it was promoting anything at all. With E3 on it’s way many thought it was to promote a new video game, others believed it was a promo for a new movie coming out, and some just thought it was made for fun. Continue after the jump to read what the real deal to this short film was!

Groovin’ With Ken and His Viral Toy Story 3 Marketing
With more and more admiration towards animated films, I am definitely digging this viral marketing campaigns for Pixar’s Toy Story 3. An interview of Ken the doll (voiced by Michael Keaton) and his dating tips, show a sort of adult side humor to these toys. They are pretty fun and if you had doubts about the direction of these new characters, specifically Ken, then I suggest you check these videos out. Pixar storytelling seems like they are going towards more adult themes like Up or Wall-E, while still maintaining their childlike wonderment. The highly anticipated Toy Story 3 will be released in theaters this Friday, June 18 in 3D, 2D, and IMAX 3D. Check out Ken as he gives you tips on getting the girl and more insight into his life as a Ken doll after the jump!
T-He: Resident Evil: Afterlife, Clash of the Titans, and Tron: Legacy Literally Translated
I’m all for literal translations, especially after I was introduced to them with the literal translation of the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” video (yeah, I might have been late to the party?). But these guys at Tobuscus have done a pretty swell job with movie trailers and their music cutting lyrics to the action that is going on within them. After the jump check out literal translations to Resident Evil: Afterlife, Clash of the Titans, and Tron Legacy movie trailers. Continue reading
T-He: (500) Days of Summer as a Thriller?
The guys at Scott Productions decided to recut scenes from the great indie rom/com (500) Days of Summer and infuse it with music from Inception trailer to make a totally believable thriller. Zack Hemsey’s ‘Mind Heist,’ from the latest Inception trailer makes this trailer recut into something at the same time brilliant and funny due to the context of the film. I believe that it sort of loses its spark near the end of the video, but it still is a must see if you like (500) Days of Summer. Check out the recut (500) Days of Summer thriller redub after the jump!
Get Buried in this Trailer
The official trailer for Ryan Reynolds new thriller, Buried, was recently released attached to A Nightmare on Elm Street. This low budget indie film caught the eye of Lionsgate at the Sundance film festival this year when it won over audiences with its unique story and dare I say set design? Not since The Descent have we really gotten a film to capture the essence of a classic case of claustrophobia.
Synopsis: Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time- fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only 90 minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.

Joey Anash’s Street Fighter: Legacy
If we could take back Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and learn from our mistakes with video game adaptations, will we ever get a decent Street Fighter movie? Besides the 1994 attempt at a feature film, Street Fighter has really been an accomplished video game franchise. After the dust settled from the aftermath of Legend of Chun-Li, one man has stepped up to this challenge to create a short film recognizing the potential of Street Fighter. You can check out the short film along with trailers, featurettes and pictures after the jump!
Official: Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds Teaser Trailer
FINALLY! After 10 years of hopelessly waiting and distraught whether or not this game would be released, IT IS HERE! Well not yet anyways, but it is coming soon! Marvel announced today and it was revealed last week at Capcom’s annual Captivate event in Hawaii, the unveiling of Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. The teaser shows what is in store for some of the fighting animation and characters. Capcom has taken a little taste out of Street Figthter IV and mixed it in with the MvC style as well. I’m a little worried about the announcement of around only 30 characters when MvC2 had 56 playable characters. They say that there will definitely be brand new characters while still throwing in some classic characters as well; one of mine being Morrigan. The game will be released on the Playstation 3 and XBox 360, but no official release date yet.
“If I was scared of what the fans were thinking or had any trepadition at all about doing this, it wouldn’t have gotten made,” says Niitsuma. “As a creator, I have confidence in what I create and I believe that what I make is something that the fans will enjoy. As long as I keep that in mind, I’m pretty sure this is something that the fans will enjoy.”
