Surrender Your Wallet To Hollywood, A 2011 Summer Movie Guide!

Going into the third weekend of May, the 2011 Summer movie season has been in full swing. Some would say that this year has been so packed full of high intensity big budget blockbusters that the Summer movie season started in March.

There is no doubt that 2011 has had some pretty thrilling and explosive movies before now with Battle: Los Angeles, Sucker Punch, Rango, Fast Five, Source Code, Hanna, and Scream 4, but the real heavy hitters have only just begun.

Summer movies can be pretty formulaic in terms of their content: bigger explosions, glossy cinematography, incredible scores, and big name actors, but looking past the stereotypes, the Summer of 2011 will absolutely rape your wallet in my opinion. I believe there won’t be a single weekend where I won’t be visiting the theaters until mid August.

Be sure to check out the full schedule of movies coming out this Summer after the jump!

Some great colorful and spoiler-free photos were release from Walt Disney Pictures for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides! Photos of Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz are the main focus in these pictures. I have a lot of faith in this project and love the Pirates franchise, and yes I did not like the sequels as much as the first film, but there was still some good thought in there. Bloody Marys All Around! Pirates of the Caribbean Teaser!

Whisperings and rumors of Captain Jack Sparrow’s next adventure to find the Fountain of Youth was teased this weekend at the San Diego Comic Con for the new movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Even if it weren’t not true, you wouldn’t be interested in viewing would you? He proposes the dangers of zombies, cutthroats, mermaids, and of course Penelope Cruz. I am pretty excited to see this movie, unlike others who were left with a bad taste in their mouths after the last two films, but I can side with that as well. That doesn’t make me run away from the franchise, as I still love the world that Jerry Bruckheimer created in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Nothing new was really revealed in this teaser other than that it was presented in 3D at the con, but was released in 2D online obviously. The new movie is being shot in 3D so that will give new depth to the pirate world.

According to /Film, at the D23 Expo, it was released that the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is currently subtitled, On Stranger Tides. What does this mean?
