Surrender Your Wallet To Hollywood, A 2011 Summer Movie Guide!
Going into the third weekend of May, the 2011 Summer movie season has been in full swing. Some would say that this year has been so packed full of high intensity big budget blockbusters that the Summer movie season started in March.
There is no doubt that 2011 has had some pretty thrilling and explosive movies before now with Battle: Los Angeles, Sucker Punch, Rango, Fast Five, Source Code, Hanna, and Scream 4, but the real heavy hitters have only just begun.
Summer movies can be pretty formulaic in terms of their content: bigger explosions, glossy cinematography, incredible scores, and big name actors, but looking past the stereotypes, the Summer of 2011 will absolutely rape your wallet in my opinion. I believe there won’t be a single weekend where I won’t be visiting the theaters until mid August.
Be sure to check out the full schedule of movies coming out this Summer after the jump!
Official Trailer for ‘Cowboys and Aliens’
Yet another movie trailer that has come out this week, but this one is absolutely spectacular. I cannot wait until this movie comes out to theaters, based on this trailer anyways. Cowboys and Aliens, directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Elf), is a 100-page 2006 graphic novel adaptation created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foleyand. Favreau has always had a very keen eye for what’s right in a film and great sense of direction. Cowboys and Aliens features Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, and Sam Rockwell.

Jon Favreau Predicts a Summer Box Office “Bloodbath” in 2011
With such a lackluster Summer this 2010, how could the movie studios make up to their loyal consumers? How about a full out brawl in the Summer of 2011? Luckily, we will be treated to not only some of the biggest blockbusters from established franchises, but some really interesting original films that could be potential money makers.
