The first trailer for Cameron Crowe’s latest, Aloha, made its debut today. It totes a star-studded cast of varying generations, including Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Alec Baldwin, and Bill Murray. As the title implies, moviegoers will be whisked away to the far away land of Hawaii where romantic hijinks will ensue and life lessons will be learned. I’m predicting the future, and what I foresee is that 12 Years a Slave will win Best Picture at the Oscars on March 2 and the home video sales will skyrocket once it releases on March 4, the following Tuesday. That’s perfectly timed isn’t it? 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment announced today the big release date for one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2013 – it was in my top 5 that’s for sure. Buckle up, because if The Internship is what you seek, prepare for an overly long, two-hour advertisement for Google riddled with outdated cliches. But despite the lack of ingenuity, this film turns out a pretty harmless attempt at humor with a little dash of heart. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson put in a great effort, but the once famed Wedding Crashers duo are hardly given enough room to grow. Continue reading
I’m not sure if Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are trying to cut their careers short, but the clash of the generations depicted in the latest trailer for The Internship isn’t working. Although better than the teaser trailer, what we see here is still not stacking up. This new trailer explores further into the reaches of the characters and story, but The Internship still feels like a bit of a stretch in this day and age.
