No one is safe from The Wolfpack and this time. A full theatrical trailer has been released for The Hangover Part III, and this time the terrible trio can be seen traveling to Tijuana and back to Las Vegas. The whole southwest corner of North America will burn to the ground as our heroes search far and wide for Mr. Chow in order to save Doug. Watch the full trailer after the break.
With almost a month to go before the May 24 release of The Hangover Part III, there seems to be a lot of faith or over protection for this summer R-rated comedy. I can see how they wouldn’t need to market the name since its predecessors have done quite well financially, but that’s like saying they don’t need to show a trailer for The Dark Knight Rises since The Dark Knight was a financial juggernaut. There should be a lot more riding on Part III due to the fact that Part II has gotten so much hate; it could take the chance to bring more trust in audiences. Or maybe that’s why they are not pushing this movie too hard; they want to not re-open the wounds of fans who were looking forward to Part II being a hit.
In the trailer below, it would appear that there is no hangover this time around. Breaking tradition, how will the final entry in The Hangover franchise fair with audiences after Part II? Many complained that the second was too similar to the first, so with this change, could we see a return to form for this story to come to a compromising conclusion? See for yourself:
I like the direction that they’re going with here, but I feel as though they just gave us a little too much. The trailer looks like they’ve given us the entire story before we’ve even seen it. Beat for beat, we can see that Alan’s dad has died; his friends are worried about him and want to take him to a special home; they get kidnapped; and then the Wolfpack is responsible to find Chow before John Goodman kills white Doug. They obviously find Chow, shenanigans ensue, and some sort of happy ending will set things right. Are we missing anything?
Here is a brief synopsis courtesy of Apple Trailers:
This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.
Pretty straight forward and very vague. The trailer pretty much says it all though. What secret gems could Todd Phillips be hiding from us? We saw the return of Heather Graham in the teaser trailer, can we expect another cameo from Mike Tyson?
Starring Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, and Ed Helms, The Hangover Part III also has Ken Jeong, Justin Bartha, John Goodman, and Heather Graham.
The Hangover Part III will arrive in theaters May 24, 2013.
