T-He: Dodge Challenger “Freedom” Commercial

I saw this commercial right before the world cup match between England and USA. Who ever planned that timing was probably an expert in media planning and whoever came up with this commercial was a creative genius. Not very loud and in your face humor, but very smart and well done. Now I don’t really enjoy car commercials too much, as they are pretty hard to sell and are boring, but whoever created this commercial, “Freedom” for the Dodge Challenger and the Kia Soul commercial with the hamsters, have gotten car advertisements down to a science. No longer will I be bored watching cars drive around turns and up mountains. I now have the luxury of watching hamsters roll up in their new cars and play basketball and Americans truly embracing their freedoms in their new Dodge Challengers. I’m all for literal translations, especially after I was introduced to them with the literal translation of the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” video (yeah, I might have been late to the party?). But these guys at Tobuscus have done a pretty swell job with movie trailers and their music cutting lyrics to the action that is going on within them. SlackCircus thought it would be a great idea to mash up He-Man, 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up” with the raw energy of dance; boy were they right. Who knew that He-Man had such emotion and charisma. T-He: (500) Days of Summer as a Thriller?

The guys at Scott Productions decided to recut scenes from the great indie rom/com (500) Days of Summer and infuse it with music from Inception trailer to make a totally believable thriller. Zack Hemsey’s ‘Mind Heist,’ from the latest Inception trailer makes this trailer recut into something at the same time brilliant and funny due to the context of the film. I believe that it sort of loses its spark near the end of the video, but it still is a must see if you like (500) Days of Summer.
