Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, announced this morning that Pixar has included Cars 3 and The Incredibles 2 to its roster of upcoming films in development. This announcement was made during the company’s shareholders meeting in Portland, Oregon, while providing more details about the productions. Mondo is ressurecting the movie poster game, and invaded SXSW 2014 this year with their own Disney inspired art gallery entitled “Nothing’s Impossible.” In collaboration with Oh My Disney, Mondo worked with such artists as Olly Moss, Dave Perillo, Jeff Soto, Tom Whalen, and more to come up with this one of a kind experience for festival attendees. As many loyal Pixar fans may know, the studio likes to add little hidden gems in their films that increase the enjoyment for true Pixar geeks. Pixar has just released a few screenshots from Monsters University pointing out just where to find some of the most notorious Easter Eggs common in all of their films. With less than a month to go, Disney•Pixar has released one final trailer for Monsters University in less than two weeks after the most recent one. We all know how powerful Pixar is in drawing an audience, but is a new trailer necessary ten days after the release of an already decent one? I never thought it possible to infuse Andrew W.K. into a Disney•Pixar movie, but the fine folks in the marketing department made it possible in this brand new, fast-paced Monsters University trailer. For those in the Greek system, Monsters U. may resonate more than to a GDI (Gosh Darn Independent), but either way, this new footage promises a lot a laughs and a great new adventure for Mike and Sully. With Cars 2 misfiring and Brave gaining mixed reviews–leaning more negatively, despite it’s Oscar win–the once glorified animation studio has seen better days. I for one would preferably rather see The Incredibles post converted into 3D because of the more action-y, visual elements in that film, but we’ll just have to suffice with Monsters, Inc. for now.
