With the craze of Toy Story 3, the folks at CrissCrossMedia have put together a re-enactment of the opening scene from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story. It’s not totally accurate (not Bo Peep), but you get the gist of it and have to give them credit for putting in the creative effort to make this. Check out the short video after the jump!
Production of Rob Marshall’s Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides has begun in Hawaii, and with that more details of the story have been revealed thanks to the lovely folks at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The fountain of youth cannot hide when Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is on the hunt. Joining the crew is Ian McShane as Captain Blackbeard and Penelope Cruz as Blackbeard’s daughter and one of Sparrow’s illustrious exes. Coming back is also Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs and of course Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa. Jason aka Hercules, from Ain’t it Cool News, snapped some pictures from his bedroom window overlooking the set of AMC’s adaptation of The Walking Dead directed by Frank Darabont and based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman. Hercules writes, “I shot these photos from my bedroom window. My building overlooks the set for The Walking Dead. A friend suggested I send these on to you guys. Hopefully you guys can use these. Let me know what you think and I will send along some more.” AMC also released a photo of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, the main protagonist. Someone at IGN really feels as though Jackie Chan has come to terms with his career and wants to take it out on kids. I saw this commercial right before the world cup match between England and USA. Who ever planned that timing was probably an expert in media planning and whoever came up with this commercial was a creative genius. Not very loud and in your face humor, but very smart and well done. Now I don’t really enjoy car commercials too much, as they are pretty hard to sell and are boring, but whoever created this commercial, “Freedom” for the Dodge Challenger and the Kia Soul commercial with the hamsters, have gotten car advertisements down to a science. No longer will I be bored watching cars drive around turns and up mountains. I now have the luxury of watching hamsters roll up in their new cars and play basketball and Americans truly embracing their freedoms in their new Dodge Challengers. Universal Pictures International released characters banners that were spotted at the MCM London Expo. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz), will be released in theaters August 13! Of course, what would be a big budget franchise without the use of 3D? Transformers 3 is now confirmed to be tainted with the 3D stamp of approval, but no word on whether it will be post converted or shot in 3D. My assumption is that it will be post converted, due to Michael Bay’s lack of respect towards the technology. I don’t really blame him for his type of filming and that this was only a settlement on behalf of the studio’s demands.
