The Strangers: Part 2 A Go Go

strangers_iconz

Well I guess The Strangers is getting a sequel just like every other horror film out there according to Variety. I really like the first film and I believe it was overlooked in the horror world. The sequel is getting a new director, Laurent Briet, replacing the original director Bryant Bertino. No word on who will be in the movie, but it will be supposedly filming this September.

Sorority Row: Upholding It’s Duty To Fulfill Greek Stereotypes

Greek life stereotypes are just absolutely hilarious and the new horror film, Sorority Row, upholds this stereotype ten fold. This viral video marketing on Myspace is just absotultey ridiculous; Jessica (Leah Pipes) shows us the bonds of sisterhood within Theta Pi and as you can tell they uphold the highest quality and standards of womanhood. I’m not even sure if I could take this movie seriously. I’m sure it will have great sex appeal and Carrie Fisher as a house mom, but this movie will be as good as Black X-mas………which was awfully bad, but in a good way because it was some how entertaining?

Red Band: The Goods – Live Hard, Sell Hard Clip

the goods

Here ya go……Although I hate Jeremy Piven as a human being, this movie does look like it could be decent and funny. This clip features Kathryn Hahn (Step Brothers, The Holiday, Revolutionary Road) trying to sell a car to some gullible idiot embracing some fantasy. It’s pretty funny, do you think you would buy the car?

Sam Raimi is Going to Azeroth……

WOW

Geeze Sam Raimi is either really smart or just weird. Blizzard Entertainment, the ones to helm World Of Warcraft, has dubbed the honor of directing the W.O.W. movie to Mr. Raimi. This is also going to be done by Legendary Pictures.

“At its core, ‘Warcraft’ is a fantastic, action-packed story,” said Raimi. “I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.”  “Partnering with Sam Raimi exemplifies Legendary’s mandate of marrying the highest quality intellectual property to world-class filmmakers” said Legendary’s Tull.

iPhones Apps Could Save Your Life………

If you live in Europe………

Dutch brewing giant Grolsch has launched an iPhone app to test drinkers if they are too inebriated to drive.

The “Walk the Line” app was launched at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. Users who got a high score were offered the chance to get a free festival photograph taken at the Grolsch bar, but those with a low score were invited to join the Grolsch team for a drink of water.

While the app is not actually an alcohol test, Grolsch says it aims to encourage festival-goers to monitor their alcohol consumption in a “fun, innovative way” and share it with their friends.

Grolsch is taking the concept to other major music festivals this summer, with promotions staff encouraging participants to download and play with the app.

Marvellous, Amsterdam, part of Aegis Group’s Isobar network, created the app using the iPhone’s motion-sensing accelerometer. It is also available in a generic version. But it’s not available in the U.S. – ADage

ironmanscarlettnew

Yahoo! Movies have given us a brand spanking new picture of the lovely Scarlett as Natasha Romanoff. Johansson plays Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff (aka the Black Widow), who is hired as Stark’s assistant which inevitably sparks romantic tension between Stark and former assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), who’s been promoted to CEO of Stark Industries. Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7th 2010.

Ryan Reynolds you are one lucky man……

WATCHMEN OUT ON DVD AND BLU-RAY TODAY! GET IT!

(Available as single-disc Theatrical Cut and 2-Disc Director’s Cut)twidvd-watchmen
For the longest time the Watchmen graphic novel was said to be “unfilmable”. Obviously, that’s a nonsensical notion. If we’ve learned anything from the Super Mario Bros. movie, it’s that any property can be adapted into a film, regardless of story (or lack thereof). The real question is whether or not it can be done well. And in the case of Watchmen, director Zack Synder found himself in a lose-lose situation. The problem with adapting any comic or novel for the big screen is that, more often than not, what worked in its original medium just doesn’t translate that well to film. Thus, the only solution is to make concessions by changing various aspects of the source material. In many instances, this process has yielded positive results (V for Vendetta, the latest Harry Potter films), regardless of what the frothing hostility of certain fanboys might suggest. Watchmen though, would only suffer from these types of changes. To significantly alter the source material would be to defeat the purpose of adapting it at all. Zack Snyder was clearly aware of this, and decided (with one notable exception) to remain as faithful to Alan Moore’s classic graphic novel as possible. While I strongly believe Snyder made the right choice, there’s no denying that the resulting film suffers from all the expected flaws that come with going down this route. The pacing is all over the place, certain twists and turns don’t carry the same weight as they do in the graphic novel, and uninitiated viewers may find themselves at a total loss as to what in the hell they’re watching. Simply put: As a movie meant to stand on its own, Watchmen is a failure. It succeeds, however, as a fascinating experiment and companion piece for those who have already read and loved the graphic novel. Likely not what the studio was hoping for, admittedly, but for people like me, it’s just about the best Watchmen film we could’ve asked for… even if, frankly, it probably shouldn’t have been made in the first place.

Hellogoodbye US Fall ’09 Tour

Apparently for some forsaken reason Hellogoodbye is touring with Hanson?! WTF? Hanson? That’s so odd. Also with guests Sherwood and Steel Train.

Hellogoodbye tour

I got this information from a myspace post that Forrest they decided to drop. I’ll probably just go to see Hellogoodbye and leave. They put on a really good show and their show is the only reason why I started liking them in the first place. The tour starts the end of September and goes on til November. This tour is a sort of philanthropy of course, knowing HGB’s character, that when you buy a pair of shoes the Toms Shoes will donate a pair to a child in need. Hellogoodbye’s new album should be coming out pretty soon and I’m pretty excited for that.

After the jump is the list of tour dates that they are appearing at. Fortunately they are going to be in Chicago twice:

Sprite Can Be Sexy? Yeah, I Suppose……

Sprite

Today, I stumbled upon a few banned German Sprite ads that are pretty suggestive aka hilarious. You can obviously tell why it is banned, but hey, it’s pretty funny. Once again, the old saying goes, ‘sex sells,’ but perhaps some people might turn away from the idea of a Spirte money shot? Just take a look:

Due to so much copyright infringement I took some ad stills so you can see it in photos, after the jump:
