The tagline is great, the imagery simple, and my expectations are mediocre. I love this franchise and the first film holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite comedies of all time, but with their recent run of straight to DVD movies, my hope American Reunion succeeds is less than optimistic. Either way, I hope they bring back the original spark that American Pie once held.

The Amazing Spider-man Teaser Trailer
A few weeks ago, right before Comic-Con, the first teaser trailer for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-man hit the Internets. Some have said it to be a lot darker than Sam Raimi’s trilogy, which makes it easily stand on its own, while others question what Sony Pictures may have in store for this property.
There is no official plot synopsis yet, not even from the official website, but from what most have gathered Spider-man, played by Andrew Garfield (The Social Network; Never Let Me Go) will be facing off against Doc Connors aka “The Lizard,” played by Rhys Ifans (Pirate Radio; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1; Notting Hill) in a complete reboot and origin story with no Mary Jane in tow. Replacing Mary Jane Watson as the love interest will be Gwen Stacy, played by the natural blonde Emma Stone (Easy A; Superbad; The Help).

‘Like Crazy’ Trailer and Poster
This trailer for Like Crazy is the purest definition of an indie film ever. Even without the horrible sound mixing of the trailer it just reeks of independent filmmaking. I can’t tell you why the music overshadows half of the dialogue in this trailer, but what I can tell you is that this film won the Sundance Film Festivals “Best Picture Grand Jury Prize” and “Best Actress Special Jury Prize” for Felicity Jones’ performance.
It looks like this year’s Blue Valentine, which was a film I held in my top 10 best films of 2011. It has a great young cast: Anton Yelchin (Alpha Dog, Charlie Bartlett, Star Trek), Felicity Jones (Northanger Abbey, The Tempest), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone, X-Men: First Class, The Hunger Games ), and Charlie Bewley (Twilight New Moon and Eclipse). The director is unknown to me, Drake Doremus (Douchebag; Moonpie), but if a director can pull off the biggest award of Sundance than he is someone to look out for and I’ll definitely be waiting in anticipation for this film!

First Look: The Dwarves of The Hobbit
Pre-Comic-Con, images of individual and groups of dwarves from Peter Jackson’s upcoming film The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again have been sprouting up. Now I’m not quite sure if someone Photoshopped all of them together or if this is an official image, but I really like this group shot of the infamous 12 dwarves from the classic J.R.R. Tolkien book The Hobbit.
There is a really great sense of place with their costume design. They all seem to fit perfectly within Peter Jackson’s Midde-Earth realm from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Could Mr. Jackson be setting up for another Oscar run? Perhaps, but I’m not going to hold my breath. With the way Harry Potter was split up, I don’t put too much faith in movies that are part of a whole. What do you think of the 12 dwarves abound to take back their gold from the evil dragon Smaug?

The First Official Look at Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman
And there you have it folks. Hot off TheDarkKnightRises.com last night at 2am PST, the first official picture of Anne Hathaway as the sleuth Selina Kyle aka Catwoman has been released. But where are the ears?! I want them meow! I can dig everything else, the suit is in the essence of the Nolanverse being ideally realistic, but come on man, give me some cat ears or at the least a whip. Maybe she’ll have her whip in the movie, but I’m not seeing the iconic weapon here nor in the set photos after the jump!
Neato: Harry Potter Imagined as a Disney Characters
It’s only a matter of time before something like this is going to happen. I don’t think J.K. Rowling’s gold throne in her platinum mansion with her diamond crown is going to suit her much longer if the Harry Potter franchise loses its steam. So why not make it into a marketable cartoon of hijinks and teenage woe? You can find a full list of character concepts after the jump!
Neato: Animation Color Wheel
You meet a lot of strange and colorful individuals through all different kinds of animated features and shows. The genius minds over at Slate.com decided to create an amazing spectrum of color utilizing various different animated characters throughout time in honor of The Smurfs releasing this past weekend. There are so many iconic figures in this wheel that it brings way too much nostalgia that I might strike a tear. Doubtful since I removed my tear ducts in a surgery last fall. The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster and Trailer
Our second official Dark Knight Rises marketing piece has been released in the form of a teaser poster. Previously, the only other marketing materials we have seen thus far have been a great first look at our villain, Bane. But fear not my friends, for more Batman is upon us very soon! It has been said to believe that we will get our first glimpse at The Dark Knight Rises attached to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as a teaser trailer. If you know any of Christopher Nolan’s previous teasers for his movies you know how vague they can be. After three long years of waiting, the first teaser trailer for the next and last installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy has been officially released online today. The Dark Knight Rises is slated to be released on Friday, July 20, 2012. You can check out the trailer after the jump!

If you don’t have all the time in the world to read all of the Harry Potter books or watch all of the movies again or for the first time before tonight than you’re in luck my friends! The Fine Brothers have been gracious enough to summarize all seven Harry Potter films in under seven minutes.
