Nostalgia: 15 Years of Fox Searchlight

Established in 1994, Fox Searchlight has released many memorable films that have stuck with movie goers for over the past 15 years. Specializing in independent and British films, along with dabbling in horror, dramedies, and a few foreign films, Fox Searchlight has brought us some of the most personable characters and inspiring moments in cinematic history. From releases to The Full Monty, Slumdog Millionaire, Juno, Garden State and many more, Fox Searchlight asked Kees van Dijkhuizen, a video editor who has created other montages looking back at film from 2008 and 2009, to develop a short video showcasing their works over the past 15 years. You can check the nostalgic video after the jump along with another video created by another film fanatic as well.

T-He: Volkswagen’s “See Film Differently”

Volkswagen has more on their mind then just automobiles. VW has been seen sponsoring various film festivals these days and have been really taken with the  industry.  The See Film Differently campaign has been reignited after a few cute print ads that surfaced last year. The new campaign is focused on locations rather than cars within film. VW is calling it, “Turning the Camera On Locations,” visiting “a number of iconic film locations to see what effect the movies have had on the everyday lives of those who work there.” I love this idea. It is fun and the concept of imagining what real working people have to deal with when tourists visit must be a laugh and a headache.

Riding on the nostalgia train, Volkswagen has picked two infamous movie locations for TV spots focusing on Ghostbusters and When Harry Met Sally. You can check out the fun little videos after the break!

Alternate Deleted Iron Man 2 Opening Sequence

If you were puzzled as to why Pepper Potts never kissed Tony’s helmet goodbye like in the trailer, than you are in for a treat. With the release of the Iron Man 2 DVD/Blu-Ray coming out soon, the alternate opening sequence with this footage was leaked and can be watched now before it will probably be pulled down.

I really enjoyed this opener and gave more of a sense of Tony Stark’s alcohol abuse and made the introduction more fun like in the first movie. Director Jon Favreau decided to cut this from the beginning to give Iron Man more of a bigger entrance and not so much of a comedic opening. Check it out after the break and ask yourself, why wasn’t this put in here?!

Sometimes father figures can be cruel, but sometimes it’s tough love that helps us grow stronger.

T-He: Darth Schwarzenegger

The Governator Strikes Back with someones redubbing of Star Wars using Arnold Schwarzenegger soundboards. Pretty clever I might say. From the video description:

“An earlier casting of Star Wars IV: A New Hope saw Arnold Schwarzenegger put a juvenile, jealous and rather perverted spin on Darth Vader’s explosive personality. George Lucas had second thoughts and cast James Earl Jones instead. Enjoy these exclusive clips from the “lost tapes” archives of Skywalker Ranch.”
