When you entitle your film Epic, be prepared to suffer the ultimate consequences if what is shown on screen does not live up to the expectations of the name. In choosing to rename the film from its original source material, a book written by William Joyce, “The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs,” the movie set itself up for disappointment before it had a chance to blossom. As the first animated picture of the summer, Epic can be commended for its effort to entertain, but fails in creating an emotionally compelling story on an epic scale. Continue reading

‘The Internship’ Theatrical Trailer Fails Orientation (58 Screenshots)
I’m not sure if Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are trying to cut their careers short, but the clash of the generations depicted in the latest trailer for The Internship isn’t working. Although better than the teaser trailer, what we see here is still not stacking up. This new trailer explores further into the reaches of the characters and story, but The Internship still feels like a bit of a stretch in this day and age. Watch the full theatrical trailer after the break and see for yourself. Continue reading
Fight to Save the Forest in the Final ‘Epic’ Theatrical Trailer (74 Screenshots)
Hexxus is back to destroy the rainforest once and for all, and the daughter of Zak Young must find a way to get back to FernGully to save Queen Crysta and her fairy people. Just kidding. Epic is an entirely different film based on an adaptation of a children’s story that bears many similarities to that of the classic Australian-animated feature from 1992. Watch the full-length theatrical trailer for Epic after the break. Continue reading
Valentine’s Day is a ‘Good Day to Die Hard’ (Trailer & 28 Screenshots)
This Valentine’s Day, if you’re taking your lady to the movies and she is more open to an action flick, take her to see A Good Day to Die Hard. This long-running series featuring John McClane (Bruce Willis) may not put her in the mood as much as Safe Haven, but at least you’ll have a better chance of staying awake. Check out the trailer and some screenshots after the break. Continue reading

Matthew Vaughn Releases Two Great Photos of Magneto and Professor X

Unbeknownst to the average joe, or probably many people, Matthew Vaughn didn’t intentionally want that group shot of the X-Men from First Class released nor did he have any knowledge of its origin. Luckily, for /Film and Peter Sciretta, he got an exclusive phone interview with the director and received two great images of the main characters themselves, James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr, WITH HELMET!
