And three more makes nineteen. For exactly one month now, this ridiculous marketing campaign from American Horror Story: Asylum has bombarded audiences with teasers every single weekday. Some have been rather intriguing, others dull, and most completely pointless. Sixteen! We have now reached sixteen teaser trailers for American Horror Story: Asylum, not including the two character teasers.This madness has to be stopped! Seriously. Yes, these newest teasers, “Hellevator,” “Slipping,” and “Veiled” are a lot better than the last five, but has FX ever heard of the phrase, “too much of a good thing”? I honestly was joking about promoting a new teaser until the second season premiered, which would be over 30 teasers in all, but the creators behind the show seem to be doing just that. Meet your 2012 cast of American Horror Story: Asylum. Here we have two teasers that introduce mostly everyone we’ll see this year, which include the likes of Adam Levine, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Joseph Fiennes, James Cromwell, and Jessica Lange. The first time I heard about American Horror Story, I was more excited about the development of this project than Leatherface creating a new mask. When the series debuted on FX last year I had hope, but as the show progressed that hope turned to doubt, confusion, anger, and finally at the end, mediocre content.
After American Horror Story was approved for more seasons I found myself in a furious uproar, especially if we were to continue with the bi-polar, unrelatable Harmon family. Eventually announced as a mini-series, meaning we would see a different story each season, I was please to hear we would get a fresh new start. This new beginning takes us into the deepest parts of a 1960’s insane asylum. Continue reading
