Moving away from the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs franchise, writer-directors Chris Miller and Phill Lord (21 Jump Street) have moved on to build something more ambitious. As far as comedies go, 2013 has been slacking. A few laughs and a couple of giggles, but nothing has truly stuck out enough to break my funny bone. That is until I saw This Is The End. The epic, star-studded comedy brings the Apatow bunch to a whole new level; thanks in-part to co-writers and directorial debut of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. As the world comes to its ultimate demise, This Is The End makes good on delivering one of the raunchiest, most entertaining movies of the year. No topic is taboo and no one is safe. Continue reading

Movie goers eagerly awaiting the release of This is the End got a very special treat at WonderCon this past weekend. With Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, and co-writer-directors Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen hitting the stage, hilarity ensued. It’s been a while since we’ve had the Apatow bunch back in action together again. And thanks to James Franco and Seth Rogen, these two fine gentlemen have been kind enough to release a quick teaser for their movie, This Is The End, just in case the Mayans were right. Whatever you may have heard about this film, take it with a grain of salt and view this movie with an open mind. Funny People is anything you could want and more. Judd Apatow has created a wonderful film, which I believe is his best yet. This is Apatow’s third written and directed film after The 40-Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up. The Apatow bunch have definitely proved that they are more than just a bunch of chummy guys who make fart jokes and smoke pot. Apatow has put together a very moving, hilarious, and well written film.
All hopes for Judd Apatow are fulfilled as the Funny People red band trailer has been released on Myspace. Woot woot. After tanking from writing Pineapple Express (I thought it was decent), Walk Hard, and You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, but being his third directed film, Apatow is redeeming himself by coming out with this movie. This trailer is hilarious and you should laugh and eventually go see this movie when it comes out July 31st. WATCH THIS TRAILER
