Dark Knight Sequel Production Begins 2010

gary-oldman

According to all who went to Comic Con to see the Book of Eli panel, someone questioend Mr. Oldman about the anticipated Dark Knight sequel. Apparently it will begin production next year, but when?

“I think the next Batman is next year,” he told a fan who asked about when the long-awaited “Dark Knight” follow-up would hit, “We start shooting next year. You didn’t hear that from me.” – Oldman

Faster Than a Speeding Lawsuit?

So it appears that we will be getting another Superman movie sooner than we thought. Warner Bros. and DC Comics went against the heirs of the creators of the man of steel, Jerome Siegel. There was some legal issue with money of Smallville and some “sweetheart” rights and other legal mumbo jumbo, but it would go in favor of WB and DC against their plantiffs.

“The Court pointedly ruled that if Warner Bros. does not start production on another Superman film by 2011, the Siegels will be able to sue to recover their damages,” attorney Toberoff added. “The Siegels look forward to the remainder of the case, which will determine how much defendants owe them for their exploitations of Superman.”

Watchmen Deleted Beat Down

A preview of a Watchmen deleted scene for the director’s cut, which comes out in two weeks, has surfaced which shows the attack of Hollis Mason in more detail from the graphic novel. It’s pretty good and I can’t wait til the director’s cut DVD comes out. This version of the film will be about three hours long when it is released. This little deleted scene appeared on Topless Robot. WATCH IT.

It Has Begun……

mortal_kombat1

Just as I predicted (I might not have stated it on here), but as the buy out by Warner Bros. on the Mortal Kombat franchise from Midway, there is another Mortal Kombat movie in the works. A sequel or a remake is unknown, but after MK: Annihilation there was to be a third that never happened due to budget and how bad Annihilation did. With Warner Bros. backing this possible third movie, skies the limit. From FirstShowing, there was a report that Scorpion (Chris Casamassa) from the first two movies was gearing up to start shooting the new movie in September.  This could all be bull-puckey, but could this beloved franchise rise from the dead and fight in Mortal Kombat one more time? Finish Him………

Quick Notes Quatro

blog+scribbles

Here we go with some quick notes again. Quick Notes are articles and blips that I do not feel on typing out full news that could just be viewed in shorts that I don’t feel are as important to rant about. They are all just a bunch of random hooblah of sorts that fell into this little section of fun and goodness after the jump:

Hugo Weaving Is Elrond in The Hobbit

The Hobbit Elrond

Guillermo Del Toro confirms to a BBC radio show this week that Hugo Weaving will return as Elrond in his new film The Hobbit, which will be split into two films for sake of length.

Regarding Weaving:

“Yes [and] Ian McKellen is back, [and] Hugo Weaving in the roles they originated in the trilogy.”

Listen to the whole interview here, and Del Toro also mentions of no plans on Hellboy 3 and casting for Frankenstein.
