I Am Jack’s Calvin and Hobbes

Hitting the nostalgia button, I engage in the viewing of this wonderfully edited video utilizing Bill Waterson’s Calvin and Hobbes comic and the soundtrack of the trailer to David Fincher’s Fight Club. I loved this comic when I was a young lad and this video (via Gorilla Mask)  is a great mash-up of two giants of different mediums that have been closely related in a previous theory. TeeHee: True Grit Literal Translation Subtitles

College Humor can be hit or miss depending on their target. This True Grit literal translation for Jeff Bridge’s dialogue as Rooster Cogburn is a hit; obviously that’s why I am posting it. I could tell what he was saying when I saw the film, but it is just funnier to imagine what he is saying with his mumbling speech subtitles in this video. Check it out after the break!

The Final ‘Sucker Punch’ Poster

March 25th cannot come soon enough with the release of Sucker Punch. Warner Brothers released one final poster that is visually clustered with tints of green and yellow hues. Although the poster is packed full of visuals and the title takes up half of the page, I still think it is considerably better than some action posters that come out these days. I do love their use of tilted text on the title; I’ve always loved their typography for the title. But anyways, check out the Sucker Punch poster after the jump and check out Zack Snyder’s film March 25, 2011!
