Walt Disney  Pictures has released the first of three new theatrical banners for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Want to see more? Disney is asking fans to join The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter on Facebook (www.facebook.com/MadHatterSubjects) to “help prepare his army!” Apparently The Mad Hatter is giving his army the first look at exclusive images, but “you have to follow his orders to receive them.”

Official Plot Synopsis: From Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an epic 3D fantasy adventure ALICE IN WONDERLAND, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. JOHNNY DEPP stars as the Mad Hatter and MIA WASIKOWSKA as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. The all-star cast also includes ANNE HATHAWAY, HELENA BONHAM CARTER and CRISPIN GLOVER. The screenplay is by Linda Woolverton. Capturing the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (1865) and “Through the Looking-Glass” (1871) with stunning, avant-garde visuals and the most charismatic characters in literary history, ALICE IN WONDERLAND comes to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D™ on March 5, 2010.

This is Kick-Ass

kick-ass-20091105023449635A sweet new character combo poster has been revealed for the Matthew Vaughn-directed comic book adaptation of Kick-Ass. The official website has launched as well at IAmKick-Ass.com. There is a count down to assuming the trailer.

Opening April 16th, Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

The film is based on the groundbreaking, best-selling comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

Review: Saw VI

film review smallSaw VI, where do I even begin with this one? But you got to hand it to them for coming this far and still creating interesting stories. You may be thinkin, “come on, why would I want to see this film, especially after Saw V was such a dud?” Believe it or not ladies and gentlemen, Saw VI kept with the punches and surprisingly did not disappoint. You skeptics out there keep an open mind as this is a redemption for the franchise and it definitely is here to stay.

Movie Trailer ~ Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Disney has finally debuted the first trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, based on the video game of the same name, on MySpace. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Prince Dastan alongside of Gemma Arterton as Tamina, Alfred Molina (who we get a brief glimpse of in the trailer), Ben Kingsley, and Toby Kebbell. This looks actually pretty interesting for a videogame movie. Pretty epic I might say. It is gonna be a big popcorn summer flick and should be up against some stiff competition with Iron Man 2 next summer as well. Check out the trailer:

Note: the embedding might be disabled here and there so bare with me as I keep updating the video if it gets disabled.

Movie Review: Paranormal Activity

film review

Very few horror films have that certain spark that can shock and awe these days. Paranormal Activity shocked, awed, and hung with the best of them. This micro-budget – and we’re talking micro-budget of $15,000 – reminded audiences that we can be scared back into theaters once more. With Blair Witch like intentions, this found footage horror sends chills down your spine and turns your skin white as a ghost.

Review: Funny People

film review smallWhatever you may have heard about this film, take it with a grain of salt and view this movie with an open mind. Funny People is anything you could want and more. Judd Apatow has created a wonderful film, which I believe is his best yet. This is Apatow’s third written and directed film after The 40-Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up. The Apatow bunch have definitely proved that they are more than just a bunch of chummy guys who make fart jokes and smoke pot. Apatow has put together a very moving, hilarious, and well written film.
