Star Wars Celebration attendees in Orlando were not only treated with surprise guest appearances, but also a touching tribute to Carrie Fisher. Continue reading
Sadly, I could only attend one day of Star Wars Celebration this year, but I did my best to capture some of the best cosplayers from across the galaxy who converged in Anaheim, CA this past weekend. There were many great variations of Sith Lords and Boba Fetts, proving it’s good to be bad. And we’re even beginning to see the popularity of The Force Awakens grow as some took the liberty to dress up as Rey (pictured above) with what little we’ve seen from the film.
Star Wars Celebration 2015 cosplay observations:
- I saw more Boba Fett variations then Slave Leias
- We need more Sith Samurai combos
- As much as I enjoy seeing traditional Star Wars cosplay, I love seeing fandom crossovers with Marvel and Disney; it’s exciting to see the creativity
- Jedis need to start coming up with new variations of their cosplays. I know there are many kinds of Sith Lords and Boba Fett has different kinds of color variations, but come on Jedi, have more fun with it!
- There never are any male Ewok cosplayers
- Rey from The Force Awakens is going to be a huge cosplay idea for San Diego Comic-Con
- Couldn’t escape Frozen, of course
- Twi’leks are a very popular race to cosplay as
- That Darth Maul Trooper scared the poop out of that baby

Gamers got a little treat this morning with the first, full-length preview to the highly-anticipated Star Wars Battlefront. Not since 2005’s Battlefront II have we seen a new title in the Battlefront series for consoles, but this new trailer definitely makes up for lost time. Unveiling game engine footage, Star Wars Battlefront drops viewers in the middle of an epic struggle between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire on Endor, with a special appearance from Darth Vader. After the break, watch the trailer and find out what exciting new features Battlefront will consist of. Continue reading
All hands on deck! The hottest new teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens dropped during Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim today. Writer/producer/director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy took to the stage with the film’s stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaacs, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, and Peter Mayhew to introduce the new teaser.
Take a moment.
Can you even imagine if this was the first teaser they released back in November? I can’t even believe it’s been that long since we’ve seen footage and nothing has leaked aside from those character posters of Sith Lord Kylo Ren yesterday. This trailer has all new footage, not a single shot was repeated from the first one, and it’s even mixed with John William’s original score from Episode IV: A New Hope.
We have ourselves here a new looks at Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron. And of course, we cannot forget the iconic shot of Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) together again; and boy does it feel good. There is also an ominous shot of what appears to be Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and his mechanical hand with R2-D2. Hamill can also be heard, in narration only, reciting a similar monologue from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi to an unknown person that he believes also has the powers of the Force. Who could it be?
Other questions we must inquire about: who is running the Empire now? Why didn’t they show any footage of Leia? And who’s that silver Stormtrooper?
This is what dreams are made of here people. Hopefully everyone’s excitement won’t be built up only to be let down if the movie doesn’t live up to our expectations.
Here’s the official teaser poster:
