With the big show no less than a week away, I must fulfill TTRC’s due diligence in reporting my picks in who I believe will walk away with Oscars this weekend. The 87th Annual Academy Awards are pretty stacked this year, with the nominees closer in competition than of recent years past. Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for their upcoming female-driven, summer comedy Hot Pursuit. Directed by Anne Fletcher (Step Up; The Proposal; 27 Dresses), the movie sees Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line; Wild) running from the cartel to ensure the safety of Sofía Vergara (Modern Family) to bring her in for protective custody. TV writers David Feeney (New Girl; According to Jim) and John Quaintance (Joey; Whitney) penned the screenplay, which will hit theaters on May 8. The first trailer for Cameron Crowe’s latest, Aloha, made its debut today. It totes a star-studded cast of varying generations, including Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Alec Baldwin, and Bill Murray. As the title implies, moviegoers will be whisked away to the far away land of Hawaii where romantic hijinks will ensue and life lessons will be learned.
