College Humor can be hit or miss depending on their target. This True Grit literal translation for Jeff Bridge’s dialogue as Rooster Cogburn is a hit; obviously that’s why I am posting it. I could tell what he was saying when I saw the film, but it is just funnier to imagine what he is saying with his mumbling speech subtitles in this video. Check it out after the break!
Being an advertising grad, I tend to notice product placement perhaps a little more than the average bear, but FilmDrunk.com also has a product placement radar. Tis the end of the year and another round of movie montage videos are under way, but this particular video, created by Gen Ip, has really stepped up the bar and I believe it is one of the best that I’ve ever seen. She has taken 270 movies from 2010 (practically 99% of the theatrical releases) and integrated them into a six minute video. Sometimes the best moment in a film can be the introduction to a character. One guy would like to recognize these moments that can go completely overlooked if they are done too quickly. Think back to the past few movies you’ve seen, can you remember any of the character introductions? They come by more often than you think.
