Now that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has accumulated over $850 million in box office sales worldwide, the commercially and critically acclaimed young adult blockbuster will be making its victory tour on Blu-Ray and DVD March 7. Not only is Catching Fire the highest grossing film of 2013 domestically, but it is also the first film with a female lead to top the annual box office since The Exorcist in 1973. Kudos to Lionsgate. Lionsgate Debuts First Teaser Poster for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1’
With Catching Fire slowly exiting theaters as the highest grossing domestic film of 2013, Lionsgate would like fans to begin thinking about The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 Redux Chapter 15 Episode 12. The studio has released the first teaser poster for the much anticipated young adult Suzanne Collins adaptation. With the events that had transpired in Catching Fire, and the introduction of this poster this early, Hunger Games fanatics will be begging for 2014 to end as Mockingjay Part 1 will be released on November 21. It was only a few months ago when Lionsgate released the teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It’s mysterious and gives viewers a good taste of the darker subject matter from the books by Suzanne Collins. Exactly what a teaser should be. Apparently I haven’t been paying too much attention to the marketing for The Hunger Games otherwise I would have known there was a viral marketing campaign to unveil the latest poster. One hundred websites were given 100 pieces to a puzzle that would reveal the newest one-sheet for The Hunger Games.
