Slower than a speeding slug, the new Superman film has been building steam for some time now. Producers Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are backing the David Goyer script and are moving along with a short list of directors to helm the revitalization of the Man of Steel. Mike Fleming of Deadline has been told by Warner Bros. execs that there is a list of five potential candidates to take on Superman.
Slowly, but surely, the new Spider-man movie, directed by Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer), is coming along, and with the casting of leading man Andrew Garfield to don the blue and red tights, the search for the love interest(s) still rolls on. EW.com has gotten word that Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) has been rumored as a casting choice to play the part of Gwen Stacy, who was recently played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spider-man 3. Along with Wasikowska, Emma Stone has been brought to the attention of a possible casting for Mary Jane Watson, who was of course played by Kirsten Dunst within the original Spider-man trilogy.
We’ve already seen the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer promoting both films, but now Warner Bros. has officially released an amazing new trailer focusing just on Part 1 of the incredible ending to the Harry Potter series. This new trailer is jam packed full of everything from the book and doesn’t seem to leave out any detail. The trailer provides many new clips from the movie that we haven’t seen before, maybe too many. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be so full of awesomness that I can’t imagine how far they are going to go with Part 2.
With less than two months to go, this trailer does the book justice from what I can tell, but I am a little concerned whether things in this movie will make sense to viewers who have only seen the films. There has been a decent amount left out of the past six movies that could confuse some people going into this film, but perhaps they will sort it out with a few lines of dialogue. This movie looks intense full of action, fast paced, and extremely well done; as the book was pretty much like reading a movie. Do you think the trailer could have revealed too much? I do, but as I have already read the book, I know what happens and am still very excited for this film.
Directed by David Yates, who has already helmed Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be in theaters and IMAX, this November 19! With a very bleak year for films, Todd Phillips’ Due Date seems to be the movie to help bring some life back into the end of the year. Apple has just released the second trailer for Due Date and this film looks to be in the same style as The Hangover with an obvious resemblance to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Robert Downey Jr. must make it home in time for the birth of his son as adventure ensues with Zach Galifianakis on a road trip adventure across the country.
Due Date will be released on November 5, directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover and Old School), and also stars Jamie Foxx, Danny McBride, and Michelle Monaghan. Although, Galifianakis’ character seems too familiar to Alan from The Hangover, he does play the typecast well and hopefully he won’t get as overplayed as Michael Cera.
Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. are a pair most unlikely to be in a movie together, but that is what will make this film so great. I think these two will have great on screen chemistry and make this a memorable film.

Alex Pardee, illustrator/artist, has been working with writer/director Zack Snyder with some character design posters for Sucker Punch. His bunny design is shown on the mech unit and more of his work will be seen throughout the film as well. Pardee created character posters for Comic-con, which were posted on io9.com. They are pretty vibrant in color and imagery and my assumption that there is some water color environment added to them. You can check them out after the break!

The first official look at Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch was released last night in the form of a teaser trailer. Snyder, the creative mind behind the adaptations of Watchmen and 300, has set his sights on his own original work of cinema for once and brings us this fantastical tale. The spice girls have nothing on these women who fight their way past anything that tries stopping them. Snyder does not hold back on the slow motion action in this movie, much like his previous works. This movie is really far out there and I hope this works for him. The trailer is really chaotic and there isn’t much said about the plot other than that these girls want to escape from the institute. From mecha robots to dragons, Sucker Punch delivers every fan boy/girls dreams wrapped up into one. I am really anticipating this movie to be nothing short of spectacular, I just hope I’m not over hyping myself. This past Saturday, July 24, at the San Diego Comic-Con, shall be marked as one of the most epic gatherings for a film collaboration in geek history. The full major cast of The Avengers appeared on stage at the end of the Marvel Studios panel with confirmation of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk and Joss Whedon as the director. Of course we knew of Joss Whedon directing, but this is an official confirmation along with the rumors going around about Renner and Ruffalo. As you might wonder, what happened to Edward Norton? Norton will not be reprising his role due to conflicting interests of Marvel Studios, but Norton left fans a note claiming it was not as bitter as Kevin Feige made it out to be. But all things aside, check out the footage from Comic-Con of the announcements of the cast and the fanboys/girls going crazy after the break!
