While it has been announced that Channing Tatum will be playing the role of everyone’s favorite Cajun mutant from X-Men, there is now more confirmed reports of the stand alone Gambit film underway. Marvel Studios put on a little show and dance number earlier today in Los Angeles at the El Capitan theater where they revealed their plans for Phase 3 of their Cinematic Universe. Along with Ant-Man, which is in production now, Marvel has confirmed Captain America 3, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor 3, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Inhumans, and a two-part Avengers 3 conclusion. It should come as no surprise that The LEGO Movie has earned itself a sequel. Garnering $468 million at the worldwide box office, it is one of the highest grossing movies of the year. And we have now learned that the writer directors of the first film, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, will be returning to write the sequel.
