The United States, Brazil, Russia, and Great Britain who are participating in the men’s volleyball tournament at the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games will have a shot at the gold in the women’s volleyball tournament. The competition is just as tough with Italy, Russia, China, and the United States on top of the groups. But there is still room for Japan, Korea, GB, and Brazil to come back. Continue reading

2012 Summer Olympic Games – Men’s Volleyball Schedule and Results

London 2012 Summer Olympic Games Mens Volleyball

Men’s volleyball began yesterday for the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games with some pretty one-sided victories. Besides Italy losing to Poland 1-3, all the other teams have been able to seal wins in three matches. Volleyball is a very technical game, which holds tons of strategy and physical endurance. It won’t be so easy from here on out. I for one couldn’t dive elbows first into the ground. Preliminary matches will be held until Monday, August 6, check out the full schedule and results after the jump.  Continue reading

The 2012 London Olympics Games are here! Although the games have begun, I felt it necessary to still post a few schedules up of some of the most highly anticipated events that we’ll all be looking for. Peter Jackson Wants The Hobbit to Become a Trilogy?

The Hobbit Trilogy

With the truly successful Lord of the Rings trilogy in his back pocket, Mr. Jackson and his producers believe they may be able to squeeze every last penny out of your pocket by turning The Hobbit into a trilogy, not two separate films as originally thought. Nothing is official, yet, but if you were developing a movie – with mult-Academy Award winning related movies under your belt – wouldn’t you like to see how much money people would throw at you? (If you watch one part, you have to watch the others, obviously!)

Here is where I say we stand up and protest! My fellow geeks, nerds, Hobbits, and friends, we must fight against this sort of tyranny and demand studios stop with splitting up stories into multiple films. Continue reading

Christopher Nolan Bids Farewell to Batman and Gotham City

Christopher Nolan The Dark Knight Rises

The legend ends here. After nine glorious years entrenched within the bowels of Gotham City and with the release of The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan is tipping his hat and bidding the the world of Batman adieu. It has almost felt like ages since Batman Beginswas released back in 2005, but for Nolan, it has probably gone by way too quickly. In his final moments, Chris Nolan had written the foreword to the tie-in book, The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy. Read his kind words on making the world of Gotham a reality after the jump! Continue reading

Easter Eggs from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

The Dark Knight Rises Easter Eggs

Superhero adaptations have so much rich content to pull from that it is quite impossible to showcase every little detail from their lore in film. Thus is why it is extra special for fans that spot the little Easter Eggs throughout the films – much like how Pixar does theirs. This holds true especially for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight TrilogyBob Kane created Batman in 1939. How much history from The Batman was Nolan able to squeeze into The Dark Knight Rises? READERS BEWARE: spoilers lie ahead!  Continue reading

Retro Review: Batman Begins

film review

There is a movie that has come out this weekend, it’s kind of small, you may have heard of it before: The Dark Knight Rises. As most film junkies do, I am chronologically revisiting previous films in this trilogy so that the newest film can be watched in sequence. Thus we begin with Batman Begins. It may not have been the fuel to put The Dark Knight Rises on the radar for everyone to see, but it still has its merit for being a decently well put-together superhero origin story. But how does it hold up after seven years? Continue reading
