Epic New Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Trailer

We’ve already seen the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer promoting both films, but now Warner Bros. has officially released an amazing new trailer focusing just on Part 1 of the incredible ending to the Harry Potter series. This new trailer is jam packed full of everything from the book and doesn’t seem to leave out any detail. The trailer provides many new clips from the movie that we haven’t seen before, maybe too many. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be so full of awesomness that I can’t imagine how far they are going to go with Part 2.

With less than two months to go, this trailer does the book justice from what I can tell, but I am a little concerned whether things in this movie will make sense to viewers who have only seen the films. There has been a decent amount left out of the past six movies that could confuse some people going into this film, but perhaps they will sort it out with a few lines of dialogue. This movie looks intense full of  action, fast paced, and extremely well done; as the book was pretty much like reading a movie. Do you think the trailer could have revealed too much? I do, but as I have already read the book, I know what happens and am still very excited for this film.

Directed by David Yates, who has already helmed Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be in theaters and IMAX, this November 19! Check out the full new trailer for Deathly Hallows Part 1 after the break along with over 150 screen captures from the trailer as well! Continue reading

Second Due Date Trailer Gets Here In Time

With a very bleak year for films, Todd Phillips’ Due Date seems to be the movie to help bring some life back into the end of the year. Apple has just released the second trailer for Due Date and this film looks to be in the same style as The Hangover with an obvious resemblance to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Robert Downey Jr. must make it home in time for the birth of his son as adventure ensues with Zach Galifianakis on a road trip adventure across the country.

Due Date will be released on November 5, directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover and Old School), and also stars Jamie Foxx, Danny McBride, and Michelle Monaghan. Although, Galifianakis’ character seems too familiar to Alan from The Hangover, he does play the typecast well and hopefully he won’t get as overplayed as Michael Cera.

Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. are a pair most unlikely to be in a movie together, but that is what will make this film so great. I think these two will have great on screen chemistry and make this a memorable film.

T-He: Calvin and Hobbes Parody: Joker and Lex

DC Comics’ writers, Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo, have created a tribute comic to Calvin and Hobbes starring Lex Luthor and the Joker, which will be placed in the 75th issue of Superman/Batman. (Reddit)

Happy 25th Anniversary Mr. Plumber

Who would have thought 25 years ago that a tubby little plumber with mad hops would have entered the entertainment world and become one of the leading icons in video game history. With more games than I could think to count, Mario has provided us with countless hours of fun, button smashing and frustration. And who could forget that awesome movie starring Bob Hoskins, Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo.

Today we salute you, Mario, without you I’m sure I would have had a higher G.P.A. and perhaps more of a social life and childhood. But then again, I have a really good knack of timing, castle scouring, and race car tactics. Check out the anniversary movie after the break!

It’s a Mascot Trap: The Ackbar Story

Whether it was a trap or not, the campaign to bring one of the highest officers of the Rebel Alliance, Admiral Ackbar, to become the new mascot for the Ole Miss Rebels has been brought to an end. With this highly unbelievable tale of fanboy/girl dreams, it has come to the decision that Ackbar would not become the mascot for Ole Miss. ESPN has developed this story into a great commercial (short documentary?) to be seen by all who may have not had the chance to get the full impact of how close the south was to gaining a new mascot out of this world.

T-He: Tough Love or Cruel Truth?

Sometimes father figures can be cruel, but sometimes it’s tough love that helps us grow stronger.

I Went to the Wrong School

Anyone who attends the University of Baltimore this semester can enroll in a Zombies Studies class taught by Arnold Blumberg. Blumberg is the author of Zombiemania and has developed his class agenda around this piece of literature and works of zombie cinema throughout history. Students will be reading various books and films about the undead while focusing on more than just the works, but as well as other areas of how they effect and relate to society.

Blumberg states, “It’s relatively easy to connect the zombie to what is happening in culture. We’ll have fun with it, but we’ll also give it a serious look in different contexts, like that of American progress.”

And he also adds, “The zombie functions as an allegory for all sorts of things that play out in our country. Whether it’s the threat of communism during the Cold War or our fears about bioterrorism in 2010.”

Who needs Principles of Earth Science or The Cultural Perspective on Gender when you can study the walking dead. When the zombie outbreak occurs, only those who have studied the key characteristics of brain devouring zombies could possibly save us from the infection, or perhaps those with a heavy arsenal of guns.

Still Alive

Been busy doing other things. Sorry.

T-He: Darth Schwarzenegger

The Governator Strikes Back with someones redubbing of Star Wars using Arnold Schwarzenegger soundboards. Pretty clever I might say. From the video description:

“An earlier casting of Star Wars IV: A New Hope saw Arnold Schwarzenegger put a juvenile, jealous and rather perverted spin on Darth Vader’s explosive personality. George Lucas had second thoughts and cast James Earl Jones instead. Enjoy these exclusive clips from the “lost tapes” archives of Skywalker Ranch.”
