Disney Creates an Empire with the Acquisition of Lucasfilm for $4.05 Billion

Pixar, ABC, Marvel Entertainment, and now Lucasfilm all rest comfortably under the watchful eye of the House of Mouse – The Walt Disney Company also owns 80% of ESPN shares, 27% of Hulu, and has a 50% of A+E Networks. The Hobbit Trilogy Release Dates and Title Changes

And here we thought Peter Jackson was just pulling a fast one on us back at Comic-Con 2012. Nope! It has been confirmed that The Hobbit will be transformed into a trilogy instead of a two-part film. Apparently, Mr. Jackson was able to film so much additional footage that Warner Bros. just couldn’t say no – and who could blame them? RIP Michael Clarke Duncan (1957-2012)

It is many a tragedy to hear of any one at a young age like Michael Clarke Duncan to pass away at 54, but although his passing is terribly depressing, we must remember him for all of the incredible work he has done. Most notably known for his works in The Green Mile and Armageddon, Michael Clarke Duncan was that lovable, hulking black man that captivated audiences through his immensely strong on-screen presence (there is no other actor who could replace him). Today we lost a great, kind-hearted actor who will forever be missed. He had endless potential and a great range of work that will carry on forever. More on the story after the break. RIP Tony Scott – Director of ‘Top Gun’ Commits Suicide [Updated x2]

Tragically depressing news has just hit the fan as Hollywood mourns the loss of famed director Tony Scott, brother of Ridley Scott. This news comes as a shock to everyone as he committed suicide by jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island around 12:30pm PST today. His body was recovered four hours later along with a suicide note found in his car near the bridge. Tony Scott was 68 years old at the time of his passing. Read on to find out more updates.
