After three long years of waiting, the first teaser trailer for the next and last installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy has been officially released online today. The Dark Knight Rises is slated to be released on Friday, July 20, 2012. You can check out the trailer after the jump!
Having a minor in graphic design always keeps me on my toes when movie posters come out or basically just anything to do with design crosses my path. I love minimalistic fan movie posters. Mixing simplistic design with fun typograhic characters to create a movie poster are the best of both worlds. Let The Dark Knight Rises viral marketing begin!!! Much have I anticipated the long arrival of the next viral marketing campaign for Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film. This first image of the villain Bane, one of the many villains in the upcoming film, is the first of many incidents we will hopefully be given to explore the world of Gotham city! Casting Tom Hardy is one thing, but casting him as a villain should be a spectacle to behold, especially with Nolan at the helm. Go after the jump to see how it all got discovered!

Big news created shockwaves in the geek-o-sphere today when Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises villains were officially announced. Little Anne Hathaway is filling the big shoes of Selina Kyle who is better known as Catwoman. This completes 1/2 of the rumor that consisted of a two female lead film. The other villain was announced as well, with the revealing of Tom Hardy’s character, Bane, who was seen in that horrible Joel Schumacher film, Batman & Robin. Sometimes the best moment in a film can be the introduction to a character. One guy would like to recognize these moments that can go completely overlooked if they are done too quickly. Think back to the past few movies you’ve seen, can you remember any of the character introductions? They come by more often than you think. Let the speculation begin! Christopher Nolan has finally broken silence about the third Batman project and Hero Complex scored a nice little interview with the director. The Dark Knight Rises will be the title of the third Batman film and along with that bit of information, Nolan has also offered up the news that The Riddler will not be the villain.
DC Comics’ writers, Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo, have created a tribute comic to Calvin and Hobbes starring Lex Luthor and the Joker, which will be placed in the 75th issue of Superman/Batman. (Reddit)
