A sneak preview of next week’s episode of Community, “G.I. Jeff,” has appeared online and it is glorious. Inspired by the classic G.I. Joe PSAs of the 80s, “G.I. Jeff”will join the ranks of other fantastic concept Community episodes such as “Intro to Felt Surrogacy” (Puppets), “Digital Estate Planning” (8-Bit), and “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas” (Claymation). Last night, NBC dropped a bomb on the superhero world with the announcement of Heroes Reborn, a 13 episode miniseries set to air in 2015. Whether this is a continuation of where the original characters from Heroes left off or a completely new set of super people is yet to be confirmed. And so it begins. Comic-Con 2013 is upon us and it has taken San Diego by storm. Preview Night of SDCC started at 6pm this evening and already there were lines leading out of the convention center. The streets of the Gaslamp Quarter were paved with attendees and tourists alike, taking in the sights before the madness begins tomorrow. Day 2 of WonderCon goes bigger with panels on Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, and This is the End. There’s a great panel on horror movie music, which includes discussion from composer Tyler Bates. Capcom is also hosting their own panel to talk about Remember Me, Lost Planet 3, Resident Evil: Revelations, Darkstalkers Resurrection, and more. For all intents and purposes, NBC has decided to delay the fourth season premiere of Community. There has not been much coverage or TV spots on this show and it has made me wonder if it would make its original October 19 air date. Now it’s official, fans of the show must now wait in the dark as NBC plays with our heartstrings just a little more until they figure out what they are going to do with our favorite Human Beings. Tis the night before the night before Comic-Con 2012. There has already been one tragic death of a Twihard, and let’s hope we won’t see any instances that escalate to that level of madness. (We all remember the pen stabbing of 2010.) But I digress. Festivities begin tomorrow night with sneak peaks of the convention before the big show. With last year’s mid-season hiatus, many fans feared the worst. Left without a glimmer of hope, fellow Human Beings were in their dark whether their beloved Community would even come back on the air. Luckily, NBC did the right thing and finished the third season strong, but again left the future wide open to speculation of the show’s return.
Keeping audiences on the edge of their seat, NBC recently announced that we’d be getting a fourth season of Community, fully equipped with 13-episodes. Unfortunately the show has been bumped from Thursday to Friday night – which many in the entertainment industry declare is a series suicide – but hopefully with its fan-base, Community will be able to survive. One of my most favorite movies ever to watch over and over again would have to be (500) Days of Summer. Recently, I have come to appreciate and love, the somewhat of a sleeper hit, but more under-appreciated NBC comedy, Community. If you put them both together you come up with an awesome little parody trailer for a fictional movie (500) Days of Britta. If you are unfamiliar with the movie (500) Days of Summer or Community, well, YOU BETTER GET ON IT! But in all seriousness folks, (500) Days of Summer is a great movie about love and loss between a couple and Community has a pair of interestingly fun characters who always have some sort of sexual tension, especially in the first season, Jeff and Britta.
