86th Annual Academy Awards Winners List (Oscars Live Blog)
We’re only mere hours away until we find out who takes home Oscar gold at the 86th Annual Academy Awards hosted by Ellen Degeneres on ABC. Per tradition, Turn The Right Corner will host a live blog during the ceremony starting at 5:30 pm PST – the red carpet circus begins at 2pm PST, but we won’t be covering that – and will provide you with live updates of the winners as they are announced as well as all of the shenanigans throughout the evening. With Oscar looming its golden head right around the corner, it’s only tradition to predict who is going to win the 86th Annual Academy Awards. After all of the awards ceremonies this year it would seem as though each category has a winner locked in, but you can never count out the Oscars to pull a last minute switcheroo or shocking us with an unexpected victor – I’m looking at you Crash. ‘Gravity’ and ‘American Hustle’ Top 86th Annual Academy Awards Nominees
This morning Thor Chris Hemsworth and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, were nice enough to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to announce the nominees for the 86th Annual Academy Awards. While there were many that stood out as “duh” nominations, like American Hustle and Gravity earning ten nominations and12 Years a Slave walking away with nine, there were snubs that actually surprised me this year. Top 10 Most Disappointing Movies of 2013
There were many promising films released this past year that unfortunately fell flat on their faces. This could be blamed on the marketing, sequalitis, the production, or poor direction. But anyway you look at, this list of 10 films left an empty place in my heart. What were once thought of as the most anticipated movies of 2013 sadly dissolved into something toxic. 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Nominees Announced
The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) announced the nominees for the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards this morning. Unsurprising to many, critics actually do like some movies. The ceremony will take place live on Thursday, January 16, 2014 on The CW, hosted by Aisha Tyler. Both 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle both earned 13 nominations respectively.
