‘Gravity’ and ‘American Hustle’ Top 86th Annual Academy Awards Nominees
This morning Thor Chris Hemsworth and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, were nice enough to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to announce the nominees for the 86th Annual Academy Awards. While there were many that stood out as “duh” nominations, like American Hustle and Gravity earning ten nominations and12 Years a Slave walking away with nine, there were snubs that actually surprised me this year. Top 10 Most Surprising Movies of 2013
Now that we’ve gotten past the disappointments and atrocities of 2013 we can move forward in sharing the positives that Hollywood delivered. It was a big year at the cinemas, the largest on record, and there were many solid films that did their part in entertaining the buttery-fingered masses. 2014 Producers Guild Awards Nominees Announced
The nominees for the 25th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards were announced this week as awards season picks up after the holidays. There are only four categories for film, the big one being The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. Most of the films we’ve seen from other organizational honors this year have been nominated while Inside Llewyn Davis and The Butler have been left out in the cold. 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Nominees Announced
The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) announced the nominees for the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards this morning. Unsurprising to many, critics actually do like some movies. The ceremony will take place live on Thursday, January 16, 2014 on The CW, hosted by Aisha Tyler. Both 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle both earned 13 nominations respectively. 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominees Announced
With awards season underway – the SAG Awards nominees were announced yesterday – this morning Aziz Ansari, Zoe Saldana, and Olivia Wilde took turns announcing the nominees for the 71st Annual Golden Globes Awards. Hosted once again by the dynamic duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on January 12, 2014, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has its sights set on 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle this year.
