Notably, the PGA Awards have been looked upon as one of the best bets to determine which film would walk away with the Oscar for Best Picture. According to IndieWire.com, the PGA winner for Best Picture has matched the Oscars 17 times over the past 24 years, the last six times in fact. But with so many incredible movies in 2013 the Producers Guild of America knocked Hollywood on its ass by giving both Gravity and 12 Years a Slave Best Picture at the awards last night. The 2014 Critics’ Choice Awards winners were announced this past week, live on the CW hosted by the very dry Aisha Tyler. Despite a few differential views from the Broadcast Film Critics Association, there were many similar winners the Hollywood Foreign Press Association chose at the Golden Globe Awards last weekend. This morning Thor Chris Hemsworth and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, were nice enough to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to announce the nominees for the 86th Annual Academy Awards. While there were many that stood out as “duh” nominations, like American Hustle and Gravity earning ten nominations and12 Years a Slave walking away with nine, there were snubs that actually surprised me this year. 2014 Producers Guild Awards Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 25th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards were announced this week as awards season picks up after the holidays. There are only four categories for film, the big one being The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. Most of the films we’ve seen from other organizational honors this year have been nominated while Inside Llewyn Davis and The Butler have been left out in the cold.
