If you happened to be outside the San Diego Convention Center near PETCO Park this weekend you may have noticed a building that looked like it was attacked by a monster. Thanks in part by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., the king of monsters, Godzilla himself is coming back on to the big screen in May of 2014. What Legendary and Warner Bros. brought to Comic-Con 2013 this year was an experience far more extravagant then a teaser clip like last year, they brought fans to Japan to see the beast up close and personal. Three influential directors walk into a room… and thus began one of the most under-the-radar panels of Comic-Con 2013. Needless to say, Edgar Wright and Alfonso Cuarón are a pair of the most talented, visually-inspiring directors of our time – Marc Webb is still young in his career, but a visionary nonetheless. In the span of just under an hour, SDCC attendees were treated to a conversation between three directors and what their take is on the future of the film industry. Thursday at Comic-Con 2013 was quite the hectic day. Jam packed full of panels, it’s amazing how this convention is a mere four days long. Trying to see everything is almost suicidal. Comic-Con 2013: Batman: Arkham Origins Panel Reveals New Skins and Villain
Gamers excited for Batman: Arkham Origins got a real treat at Comic-Con 2013 this year. Not only were fans treated to appearances by the director of the game, Eric Holmes, as well as Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker, the newest voices of Batman and the Joker, respectively, but they were also greeted by Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics. Those expecting to play the game October 25 were given a sneak peak at new skins available for download as well as one of the villains that has yet to be seen. ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ Leads the Pack in the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Nominations
It’s been an incredible year of television since last year’s Emmy Awards. Netflix has gone full scale assault on traditional television with the return of Arrested Development and House of Cards, earning themselves a handful of nominations. But it is FX that should be proud of American Horror Story: Asylum with its 17 Emmy nominations. HBO’s Game of Thrones follows closely with 16 nominations itself, while the regulars, including Modern Family, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, and Breaking Bad return for another round of awards. Comic-Con 2013: Preview Night Recap and Photo Gallery
And so it begins. Comic-Con 2013 is upon us and it has taken San Diego by storm. Preview Night of SDCC started at 6pm this evening and already there were lines leading out of the convention center. The streets of the Gaslamp Quarter were paved with attendees and tourists alike, taking in the sights before the madness begins tomorrow. ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Quarter Quell Character Posters Celebrates the Victors
It was only a few months ago when Lionsgate released the teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It’s mysterious and gives viewers a good taste of the darker subject matter from the books by Suzanne Collins. Exactly what a teaser should be. We weren’t introduced to too many new characters aside from Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), but now that these Quarter Quell posters have debuted, fans of the books will be pleasantly delighted to see their favorite characters come to life.
