As they say, all good things must come to an end. Sunday has finally reached Comic-Con 2013, and what a Comic-Con it was. From news on a Batman vs. Superman movie to the reveal of Avengers: Age of Ultron, there was not a geek or nerd that did not have to change their underwear at least once this long weekend. Going into the third weekend of May, the 2011 Summer movie season has been in full swing. Some would say that this year has been so packed full of high intensity big budget blockbusters that the Summer movie season started in March.
There is no doubt that 2011 has had some pretty thrilling and explosive movies before now with Battle: Los Angeles, Sucker Punch, Rango, Fast Five, Source Code, Hanna, and Scream 4, but the real heavy hitters have only just begun.
Summer movies can be pretty formulaic in terms of their content: bigger explosions, glossy cinematography, incredible scores, and big name actors, but looking past the stereotypes, the Summer of 2011 will absolutely rape your wallet in my opinion. I believe there won’t be a single weekend where I won’t be visiting the theaters until mid August.

A great new Web series has hit the Interwebs in the form of the Avengers from Marvel, Avengers Assemble! We join Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Wolverine, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Captain America, and Hulk as they take on today’s challenges of unemployment, healthcare, the BP oil spill, and more! These minisodes are hilarious and they have about seven episodes so far. You can catch their videos on their YouTube Channel, but you can also watch the first six after the break!
With such a lackluster Summer this 2010, how could the movie studios make up to their loyal consumers? How about a full out brawl in the Summer of 2011?
