20th Annual SAG Awards Nominees Announced

Let the chaos begin! All year the movie studios have been delivering over hundreds of films for your viewing pleasure, and now awards season has officially kicked off with the announcement of the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards nominees. Clark Gregg (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD) and Sasha Alexander (Rizzoli & Isles) were on the scene this morning to read off the list of nominees in six film and nine television categories. After a full day of panels behind me, I felt it best to explore the bounty of activities outside the San Diego convention center during Comic-Con 2013. This year, it seems as though there is twice as much to do than there was last year. It was a fun filled day full of video games, LEGOs, Comedy Central, and the SDCC Interactive Zone. 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Nominations

It’s been an incredible year of television since last year’s Emmy Awards. Netflix has gone full scale assault on traditional television with the return of Arrested Development and House of Cards, earning themselves a handful of nominations. But it is FX that should be proud of American Horror Story: Asylum with its 17 Emmy nominations. HBO’s Game of Thrones follows closely with 16 nominations itself, while the regulars, including Modern Family, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, and Breaking Bad return for another round of awards. Comic-Con 2013 Preview Night Photo Gallery

And so it begins. Comic-Con 2013 is upon us and it has taken San Diego by storm. Preview Night of SDCC started at 6pm this evening and already there were lines leading out of the convention center. The streets of the Gaslamp Quarter were paved with attendees and tourists alike, taking in the sights before the madness begins tomorrow. After waiting all day in lines, bumping elbows with fellow nerds, and walking around for a better part of the day, Comic-Con does not end when the sun sets. There are many fantastic parties where you may run into various celebrities, partake in food and drink, and obtain a lot of swag. Not only do these parties make the convention more enjoyable, but they make it unforgettable (depending on how much you drink). A number of these parties do require an RSVP or an invite, but there are a good amount that are still open to the public for free or at a minor cost.
